Ancient China's God

Please find here some books, articles and web sites on the subject of God and the Ancient Chinese. These books demonstrate that the same Creator God of the ancient Hebrew scriptures was known and written about 700 to 1,000 years earlier by the ancient Chinese.  The ancient Chinese called the Creator ShangDi (The God of Heaven).  ShangDi had a prominent place in the writings of Lao Tzu, Confucius, Mencius and many other Chinese Sages.

God and the Ancient Chinese Front CoverThis fascinating book by Samuel Wang and Ethel R. Nelson shows that the ancient Chinese were very aware of the creator God and had too many similarities in their spiritual beliefs to not have been inspired by the same God who led the Hebrew people.  We highly recommend this book.  There are some excepts from this book online:  Click Here to read an excerpt from a chapter about China in Bible Prophecy.

There are many web sites reviewing this information.  In time I hope to highlight as many as I can find here. In the meantime you may Click Here for Site about the Similarities between the Ancient Chinese classics and the Holy Scriptures.

Genesis and the Mystery Confucius Couldn't Solve
Earlier Books about the God of the Ancient Chinese

Genesis and the Mystery Confucius Couldn't SolveThis book by Ethel R. Nelson and Richard E. Broadberry shows the ancient Chinese were aware of the Creation Story as depicted in Genesis. In fact, they placed the story within their most ancient characters long before the book of Genesis was written.  The Genesis story is intricately involved in their ancient writing system.

The book will walk you through the Genesis story and show the ancient characters support, and even enhance the story. It then explains the "Border Sacrifice" that Confusius studied but did not understand.  Purchase on Amazon and at other online booksellers.

This book was written after The Discovery of Genesis and greatly improved the reseach by incorporating the Oracle Bones characters. A third book was later written more fully incorporating the Chinese Classics.  That third book is titled God's Promise to the Chinese.

The Discovery of Genesis
Earlier Books about the God of the Ancient Chinese

The Discovery of GenesisThis book by C.H. Kang and Ethel Nelson, written in 1979 and based on earlier works by C.H. Kang, demonstrated that the ancient Chinese characters contained the story of Genesis by studying modern Chinese characters.

Ethel Nelson, with future co-authors, improved this research by adding the study of ancient Chinese characters.  This led to a second book, Genesis and The Mystery that Confucius Couldn't Solve, which incorporated the ancient Oracle Bones characters.

A more mature third book with the Chinese Classics woven throughout was then written. The improved book is titled God's Promise to the Chinese.

The Discovery of Genesis is still available for purchase on Amazon.com.  You can also Click Here to download a PDF version of The Discovery of Genesis.
