Please find here some books, articles and web sites on the subject of God and the Ancient Chinese. These books demonstrate that the same Creator God of the ancient Hebrew scriptures was known and written about 700 to 1,000 years earlier by the ancient Chinese. The ancient Chinese called the Creator ShangDi (The God of Heaven). ShangDi had a prominent place in the writings of Lao Tzu, Confucius, Mencius and many other Chinese Sages.

The latest book by Ethel R. Nelson, Richard E. Broadberry is an improvement on God's Promise to the Chinese. This book is in beautiful color and is in both English and Chinese although some of the Chinese artwork with text does not appear to be translated. This is the third, in the progression of books, that was produced on this subject. It is authored by Ethel R. Nelson, Richard E. Broadberry and Ginger Tong Chock and shows that the ancient Chinese were very aware of the creator God and had too many similarities in their spiritual beliefs to not have been inspired by the same God who led the Hebrew people. We highly recommend this book above the previous versions!

This book by Ethel R. Nelson and Richard E. Broadberry shows the ancient Chinese were aware of the Creation Story as depicted in Genesis. In fact, they placed the story within their most ancient characters long before the book of Genesis was written. The Genesis story is intricately involved in their ancient writing system.
The book will walk you through the Genesis story and show the ancient characters support, and even enhance the story. It then explains the "Border Sacrifice" that Confusius studied but did not understand. Purchase on Amazon and at other online booksellers.
This book was written after The Discovery of Genesis and greatly improved the reseach by incorporating the Oracle Bones characters. A third book was later written more fully incorporating the Chinese Classics. That third book is titled God's Promise to the Chinese. |

This book by C.H. Kang and Ethel Nelson, written in 1979 and based on earlier works by C.H. Kang, demonstrated that the ancient Chinese characters contained the story of Genesis by studying modern Chinese characters.
Ethel Nelson, with future co-authors, improved this research by adding the study of ancient Chinese characters. This led to a second book, Genesis and The Mystery that Confucius Couldn't Solve, which incorporated the ancient Oracle Bones characters.
A more mature third book with the Chinese Classics woven throughout was then written. The improved book is titled God's Promise to the Chinese.
