Tchoung Ta-Tchen's Dual Style Tai Chi Chuan (Yang Style), Demonstrated by Sifu Laurens Lee
Tchoung's Dual Style Tai Chi Chuan (or Yang's Dual Style Tai Chi Chuan) was created by Master Tchoung Ta-Tchen based on the old style of the Yang School and the principle of balance. Master Tchoung rearranged this so all movements have corresponding movements in the opposite direction, from left to right and right to left, thus creating the Dual Style.

Sifu Laurens Lee studied Tai Chi Chuan with the late Grandmaster Tchoung Ta Tchen of the Chinese Tai Chi Chuan Association of Canada. He is now the President of the Association.
The entire form is divided into six sections, increasing in difficulty. This CD demonstrates the full six sections of the Yang Dual Style T'ai Chi form as rearranged by Tchoung Ta-Tchen:
- Section One: The first section is balanced in that each posture is performed on both sides.
- Section Two & Section Three: The movements of the second and third sections are identical, except in opposite directions, and both are balanced.
- Section Four & Section Five: Likewise, the movements of the fourth and fifth sections are identical, except in opposite directions, and both are balanced.
- Section Six: The sixth section is balanced in that each posture is performed on both sides.
- Section Seven & Section Eight: Also demonstrated is the two man partner sets which compose the seventh & eighth sections. These are demonstrated as individual forms and also performed with a partner.
While not technically an instructional video this CD will prove extremely valuable to anybody learning the Tchoung Ta-Tchen Yang Dual Style Tai Chi. |
